You will show me the path of life. As I was praying this morning it's like He took a highlighter and emphasized the phrase 'show me'. Because, in the back of my mind, as I cleaned myself up (mentally) and prepared to see dancing angels, there were some nagging things. Things that I hadn't really brought into the conversation. Things that I just figured I would have to contend with on my own.
Excuuuuuse me, 'Who's your daddy'? Who's my daddy? My daddy is the Alpha and Omega, the Beginning and the End, the I Am, the One who formed me in my mother's womb, the One who knows all my thoughts, my steps, even the hairs on my head. He's the One that prepared good works for me before I was born. And He's the One who is 'intimately acquainted with all of my ways', so those annoying little thoughts, worries, pressures, things...are the point!
Hello, knock knock, Terri....anybody home? I am laughing at myself because of the absurdity of my own 'religious' ways! Show me. You, the God of the universe are asking me to ask you to, show me...you fill in the blank. So what is it today? I actually have a long list, in fact, I think I need to write down all of the areas where I need wisdom, guidance and direction. In James it says if we lack wisdom to ask Him and He will give it! I am asking today.
In fact, when I took some of those nagging things to him this morning, He gave me a couple simple answers as I sat and waited quietly. It was like a blanket of peace. He really is in the still, small voice. And when I quiet myself, and ask Him to show me, and then I just sit before Him and wait and listen. Guess what? He does.
‘Call to Me, and I will answer you, and show you great and mighty things, which you do not know.’ Jeremiah 33:3
And the man said to me, “Son of man, look with your eyes and hear with your ears, and fix your mind on everything I show you; for you were brought here so that I might show them to you. Declare to the house of Israel everything you see.” Ezekiel 40:4
Now therefore, I pray, if I have found grace in Your sight, show me now Your way, that I may know You and that I may find grace in Your sight. And consider that this nation is Your people.”
Exodus 33:13
And he said, “Please, show me Your glory.” Exodus 33:18
Show me Your ways, O Lord; Teach me Your paths. Psalm 25:4
